2009 FET Environmental Scholarships Awarded
The Federation of Environmental Technologists continues the fine tradition of offering Scholarships to students pursuing a degree in an Environmental Field related to the management and prevention of air, water, and solid/hazardous waste pollution. Four Scholarships were awarded this year.
Two
of the four 2009 FET Scholarship recipients attended the Conference on October
20th to receive their checks. Pictured are Victoria Bertolami, UW Stevens
Point; and Ben Bocher, Marquette University, winner of the Gene Matsumoto
Memorial Scholarship; with Scholarship Chair Mary Recktenwalt, center. Other
2009 recipients are Eric Farrow of Missouri University of Science & Technology,
and Matthew Haak of UW-Eau Claire, who received the Alan Haase Memorial
Scholarship. We welcome these students as our newest
members of FET, and congratulate them on their academic success!
Mary Recktenwalt, P.E., CHMM, of Symbiont chaired the FET Scholarship Committee. She acknowledged the donors and the Scholarship Committee members. A silent auction was also held at the conference to benefit the Scholarship fund, with over $900 being raised for next year’s scholarship fund.
Donations to the Scholarship Fund are accepted throughout the year. For more information, contact the FET Office at 262-437-1700.
Congratulations to all the Recipients, and a big Thank You to the generous donors to the FET Scholarship Fund who made this year’s awards possible.
