Tuesday, May 10th – Water Seminar 5-10-16 Water Issues: This course is designed to update participants on new regulations, guidance, reporting methods, and permits related to WDNR’s water programs, including wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, wetlands, impaired waters, and phosphorus. Additional topics include information about the Waukesha diversion application under the Great Lakes Compact, high capacity wells, and waters of the United States. The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District will also discuss its treatment program, and a panel will discuss initiatives to reduce phosphorus in state waters. Thursday, May 12th – Introduction to EPCRA Reporting Seminar 5-12-16 EPCRA: This one-day seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) including emergency release reporting, federally permitted releases/continuous releases, SDS reporting, Tier II Chemical Storage reporting and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI or Form R) reporting. Thursday, May 12th – Sustainability Committee Lunch Meeting 5-12-16 Sustainability Facility Tour: Please join us for a tour of Waupaca Foundry, Inc., Plant 23 in Waupaca, WI. A Hitachi Metals Group company, Waupaca Foundry produces iron castings, focusing on transportation, construction, agriculture and industrial markets worldwide. One of the nation’s largest metal recyclers, Waupaca Foundry recycles the Eiffel Tower’s weight in scrap metals daily. There will be a presentation during lunch followed by a tour of the foundry. In addition to a walkthrough of the metal-casting process, the tour will highlight energy and water use reduction practices, state of the art pollution control technologies and the beneficial reuse of foundry byproducts for various projects including road and general construction, agricultural use, and geotechnical fill. Tuesday, May 24th – RCRA Refresher 5-24-16 RCRA Refresher: The seminar will meet the mandatory training requirement under the RCRA rules and will provide a good overview of the rules for people that are new to the field, as well as for seasoned veterans. This seminar qualifies for 40 CFR 264/265.16 (NR664/665.0016) Personnel Training Requirements, in conjunction with site-specific training. This program will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 11600 West Park Place, Milwaukee.
Wednesday, May 25th – Environmental Compliance and Safety Overview and Update has been rescheduled for September 14th.
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, July 26, 27 & 28th- EHMM 3-day Course EHMM 3-day Agenda July 2016: This course provides a broad yet comprehensive environmental, health, and safety overview of hazardous materials management and will be held at the Hyatt Place Milwaukee Airport, 200 West Grange Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.
Wednesday, September 14th – Environmental Compliance and Safety Overview and Update. The seminar will address different aspects of environmental compliance including waste management, tanks, SPCC, air management, and stormwater and wastewater permits. There will also be a session on OSHA, DOT and emergency planning. This program will be held at Florian Gardens Conference Center, 2340 Lorch Ave, Eau Claire, WI.
