DNR Proposed Changes to NR 812

A comment period is now open for proposed changes to Wis. Admin. Code NR 812 which regulates approvals for high capacity well systems. The rule contains standards for location, construction, maintenance and inspection of wells and water systems and heat exchange drillholes, for the filling and sealing of wells and drillholes, and for the installation and maintenance of pumping and treatment equipment. According to the DNR, the rule revisions correct errors, streamline existing processes and requirements, and update construction standards that have not been revised for over two decades.
