October 1982:  The first issue of FET’s Newsletter is published.  The feature article was “The Regulatory Aspects of Waste Incinerators” by Alan Haase, P.E.

October 1983:  SC Johnson hosted a seminar on Regulation & Control of VOC’s.

December 1983:  With a bank balance of $514, the Board voted to increase fees to $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.

April 1984:  A suggestion was made following an FET Seminar that there be a smoking area at FET seminars.  FET decided that “Until the Indoor Clean Air Act is in effect, we can designate a smoking table in each meeting room we use.”

January 1985:  Environment ‘85 was the first formal Conference hosted by FET.  It was held at the Marc Plaza Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.  This one-day conference featured vendors, 13 speakers, and ended the day with four round-table discussions on air, water, hazardous wastes and OSHA.  Committee chair for this event was Don Gagas.  (This conference was a pre-cursor to our current 3-day Conference & Exhibition event.)
