Breaking News! DNR Board Repeals Ambient Air Quality Standard for Total Suspended Particulate (TSP)

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Board voted to repeal the total suspended particulates (TSP) standard on June 22nd.

In 1987, USEPA replaced the TSP standards with standards for PM10.  Additional standards for PM2.5 were later adopted by USEPA.  Both the PM10 and the PM2.5 standards have been adopted by the WDNR.

The Natural Resources Board vote followed action taken by the legislative Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules in April to suspend the TSP rules.
