Air Quality and Annual Environmental Reporting Seminars – January and February 2013

Professionals with new environmental compliance responsibilities and seasoned compliance veterans will all benefit from attending this year’s FET Air Quality and Annual Environmental Reporting Seminars.  These are designed to provide attendees with updates of state and federal regulatory programs, information on the recent changes to the organization of the DNR, and opportunities to network with fellow environmental professionals.  As in the past, we are offering these in four different locations on four different dates to accommodate your schedule.

This year’s agenda includes presentations on Tier II, Form R, and Greenhouse Gas reporting in addition to the latest changes to the NR 438 Annual Emission Inventory reporting program.  We have an expert scheduled to speak on Area Source NESHAPs (also known as “MACT Standards”).  These rules apply to a broad spectrum of facilities.  Air permitting issues will be addressed – including WDNR policies on Operation Permit Renewals, new Construction Permit developments, and approaches to Air Dispersion Modeling.

Gilberto Alvarez with the USEPA will speak at the KIMBERLY and BROOKFIELD seminars.  His presentation will focus on attainment/nonattainment issues and pending changes to National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The EAU CLAIRE and DEFOREST seminars will have a segment on air issues related to Sand Mining, including how WDNR permits the sand mines, wet plants (where the sand is washed) and dry plants (where the sand is dried).  Attorneys from Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek will provide us with an understanding of upcoming State and Federal initiatives at all of the sessions.

We all benefit from networking opportunities.  We can learn of challenges occurring at other facilities and discuss solutions to those challenges.  We will develop social and business relationships.  Networking is a great means to get different perspectives on environmental topics.

The agenda, dates, and locations for the seminars are shown on the registration form on page 15 of this newsletter.  For a quick reference, here are the dates and locations:

Tuesday, January 29 – Eau Claire

Wednesday, January 30 – Kimberly

Tuesday February 5 – Brookfield

Thursday, February 7 – DeForest (near Madison)

Hope to see you there!
