To educate members and other professionals responsible for environmental, health and safety, sustainability, or related compliance responsibilities in a cost-effective manner through training, professional development and networking. FET accomplishes this through seminars, conferences, workshops, publications, webinars and online training, and other activities that address new and evolving regulations, policies and technological advances in a non-advocacy manner.

1. How do I become a member of FET?

2. Do I have to be a member to attend an event?
No. Our programs, conferences, webinars, tours, and meetings are open to everyone. However, members receive discounted pricing, environmental alerts, and our monthly newsletter EnviroNotes. If you attend often, membership can save you money and keep you more connected.
3. What types of events does FET offer?
FET offers a wide variety of professional development opportunities throughout the year. These include our annual conference and exhibition, as well as webinars, technical seminars, and facility tours. We also host networking meetings and special-topic workshops designed to help environmental, health & safety, and sustainability professionals stay up to date on compliance issues, industry best practices, and new technologies.
4. What is the ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE, and who should attend?
ENVIRONMENT 2026 is FET’s annual two-day conference and exhibition, and it’s our largest event of the year. The program features keynote speakers, technical sessions, regulatory updates, and an exhibitor showcase. It’s designed for professionals working in environmental compliance, health & safety, and sustainability, including engineers, consultants, regulators, educators, and students. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned professional, ENVIRONMENT 2026 provides valuable insights, education, and networking opportunities
5. How much does it cost to join FET?
Membership fees vary depending on your category. We offer individual, corporate, student, and government memberships. Each option provides access to member-only benefits, such as discounted event registration, environmental alerts, and our monthly newsletter EnviroNotes. 6. Can my company exhibit or sponsor at FET events?
Yes. Exhibiting or sponsoring at FET events is a great way to connect with a highly targeted audience of environmental, health & safety, and sustainability professionals. Opportunities are available for our annual conference as well as other programs throughout the year. Exhibitors showcase their products and services to decision-makers in industry, while sponsors gain visibility through event recognition and promotional opportunities. 7. Do members have access to regulatory updates?
Absolutely. One of the primary benefits of FET membership is staying informed about regulatory changes at both the federal and state levels. Members receive environmental alerts via email, as well as our monthly newsletter EnviroNotes, which includes regulatory updates, technical articles, and information on upcoming programs. This helps members stay ahead of compliance requirements and better serve their organizations.
8. How do I get involved as a volunteer?
FET is a member-driven organization, and volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Members can participate by serving on committees, helping to plan programs, presenting at seminars, or taking on leadership roles within the organization. Volunteering is a great way to share your expertise, build your professional network, and give back to the EHS community. 9. How do I get involved as a speaker?
FET welcomes knowledgeable professionals who are interested in sharing their expertise with our community. Speakers present at webinars, seminars, facility tours, and our annual ENVIRONMENT conference. If you have experience in environmental compliance, health & safety, sustainability, or a related technical area, we encourage you to submit a topic idea or presentation proposal for the conference [here]. Our program committees review submissions throughout the year and will reach out when there is a good match for an upcoming event.
10. Does FET offer scholarships?
At this time, we aren’t offering scholarships, but stay tuned in 2026 for more information, including application details and deadlines, which will be available on our website as the program launches.
11. Where is FET located?
FET’s office is located in Southeastern Wisconsin. While we are based in Wisconsin, our membership and events serve professionals across the state and beyond. Many of our programs are available virtually, allowing us to reach a broader audience. No matter where you’re located, you’re welcome to join and participate in our community.
12. How can I find other members?
Only members are able to login to the Member Page and view the directory of current members. If you are a member and this is the first time logging in, click on the Member Login at the top right of the website and choose Forgot Password. Simply follow the instructions to set a password and then login
